Born on September 29, 2022, Emmett's time on this earth was tragically brief, as he passed away cradled in his parents' arms on October 22, 2022 due to complications from Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD). Though his days were few, each one was filled with profound love, hope, and an indescribable joy that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His resilient spirit and the immeasurable love we felt for him will forever be etched in our hearts and serve as a testament to his lasting impact on our lives.
The founders of The Emmett Goodfellow Foundation are profoundly moved by the boundless strength, resilience, and spirit of children battling ARPKD. Emmett's brief yet impactful journey unveiled to us the intricate challenges these brave children and their parents confront daily.
Their lives are a testament to enduring love, a journey of highs and lows that resonates deeply with every heartbeat. We've been privileged to witness the indomitable spirit of parents who move mountains for their children, standing steadfast through life's storms.
In loving memory of Emmett, and all others who have lost their lives to ARPKD, we move forward, holding onto the promise to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected.
Our compassion stems from the understanding that behind every medical statistic is a human story of resilience and hope. We are committed to supporting families affected by ARPKD everywhere, no matter their location or background. Through advocacy, we strive to bring attention to the realities of living with ARPKD.
